Lets Organize Our Earings!

Here's a great idea that I would like to share. My daughter, who's 11, has pierced ears. Well, I despise all of her ear rings thrown in a container or jewelry box. I like them nice, neat and organized. Is that really too much to ask?

We have found a way to keep them together and it saves her time searching for them. Because, we all know that time is of the essence - kids just don't realize that yet!

This only works with stud ear rings. Use any type of buttons with two holes and attach a pair of ear rings. Easy enough right! You can now look into your jewelry box and find any pair right away. Why didn't we think of this a long time ago? Credit for this idea goes to Good Housekeeping Magazine.

Christmas Day at the Fire Station

Taylor trying out dads BA!
My husband is a Fireman and works many holidays. When Christmas comes around and my husband has to work, Santa comes to our house one day early. My girls are excited to know that Santa makes a special trip to our house. They are also excited about spending the afternoon at the station and having dinner with their dad and other families.

My husbands station prepares THE best food spread ever. Of course I was too busy mingling and didn't get a picture of the wonderful Italian dinner and desserts.

We are blessed with our family and our fire family! May everyone have a safe and healthy New Year!

Making Old Look Like New Again!

Hi everyone!

Two more days till Christmas and I'm still trying to find cute things to make. One of the women that I follow, I'm sorry I can't find who it was - it must have been late at night when I was reading blogs, had this on her blog and what a great idea!!! Recycle your old candles and make them pretty for Christmas.

I found some red candles from several years ago and decided that these were the perfect ones to try this craft on.  I Mod Podged the sides of the candle and rolled it in Epson Salt. Voila - a new looking candle!

Have a Merry Christmas!

Cookies, Cookies and More Cookies

Love her "Magical Hat"
Here we are starting our cookie journey for the year! Both daughter's in their Pj's and ready to bake. Of course my younger one decided that she should sport her "Magical Hat", as she calls it.

I'm only into day 3 and feel like I have been making cookies for days! Cookies for the teachers, cookies for my daughters friends, cookies for the Fire Station and so on. My girls and I had a great time making all of these cookies. We had fun times and frustrating times ~ like when the spritzer cookie tube wasn't working! I just can't eat one more cookie. So tomorrow, we will start on Baked Ornaments! Still like a cookie  - but thank God you can't eat this one! :o)

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did baking with my girls this weekend!
